YouTube sponsorship cost: how to budget for a creator
By the Sponmi team · Updated
A YouTube sponsorship costs what the creator's package says, plus the add-ons you choose and a 5.5% service fee at checkout (US$3.50 more on orders under US$200). Build your budget from that line by line instead of from a rate card, and if a price does not fit, send the creator an offer with your own budget.
What sets a YouTube creator's price?
Each creator sets their own price, so two channels of the same size can ask for very different amounts. The price reflects the work and the terms written into the package, not the subscriber count alone.
- What the creator makes: a short mention, a dedicated segment or a whole video.
- Which steps you review: script, storyboard, final video, or only some of them.
- How many revisions are included.
- How long delivery takes.
- How long the post stays up.
- Whether you may reuse the video in your own ads, and for how long.
What do you actually pay on Sponmi?
Every order is billed in US dollars, from any country. The total is made of these lines.
| Line | Who sets it | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Package price | The creator | Every order |
| Add-ons | The creator, in the package | Only the ones you select |
| Service fee 5.5% | Sponmi | Added at checkout |
| US$3.50 | Sponmi | Orders under US$200 |
Which add-ons change the budget?
Add-ons are optional and priced by each package. Pick only the ones your campaign will use.
- Ad usage rights for 30, 90 or 365 days.
- Rush delivery.
- Extra revisions beyond the package limit.
- A pinned link.
- Cross-posting to another platform.
- Raw or clean video files.
- An affiliate link.
- Partner ads for 30 or 90 days.
How do you build a sponsorship budget step by step?
- Decide the market and the audience you need to reach.
- Shortlist channels that reach that audience and open their packages. Prices are shown to signed-in members.
- Choose the package whose review steps and delivery time match your schedule.
- Add only the add-ons you will use, such as usage rights if the video will run as an ad.
- Add the 5.5% service fee, and US$3.50 if the order is under US$200.
- Compare the total with your budget. If it does not fit, plan an offer instead.
What if a creator's price does not fit your budget?
Send an offer with your budget and brief. The creator can accept, decline or reply with a different amount. If there is no answer within 3 days, the offer closes and nothing is charged.
Some creators do not list a price at all and take offers only, and some show prices only to verified businesses. In both cases the offer is how you start.
Should you pay for usage rights now or buy a licence later?
If you already know the video will run as your ad, add usage rights for 30, 90 or 365 days to the order.
If you would rather wait and see, a licence lets you buy the right to use a video that has already performed in your paid ads, for 30 to 365 days in the countries you choose. The 0% (until 31 March 2027) platform licence fee is included in the price shown.
Questions
- How much does a YouTube sponsorship cost?
- It depends on the creator. Each package shows its price in US dollars; you add the add-ons you choose and a 5.5% service fee at checkout (US$3.50 more on orders under US$200).
- Is the service fee included in the package price?
- No. The 5.5% service fee is added at checkout, so include it when you set your budget.
- Can I negotiate the price?
- Yes, by sending an offer with your budget. The creator can accept it, decline it or reply with a different amount.
- When do I pay?
- Only after the creator accepts, on the order page. Until then nothing is charged.
- What should I budget to reuse the video in ads?
- Either the usage rights add-on for 30, 90 or 365 days when you order, or a licence later for a video that has already performed. The licence price already includes the platform fee.
