The sponsored post process, step by step
A sponsored post runs in five steps: brief, acceptance and payment, staged review, publication, and release of payment. Reviewing the script before filming is the cheapest place to fix a problem; reviewing only the finished video is the most expensive.
Updated
The five steps
- Brief: product, key messages, must-say and must-not-say, links, deadline.
- Acceptance and payment: the creator accepts; the brand's payment is held.
- Staged review: script, then storyboard, then final video, each approved before the next begins.
- Publication: the post goes live with an ad label.
- Release: the held payment goes to the creator.
What to check at each review
| Step | Check |
|---|---|
| Script | Claims are true and allowed; the key message is in the first seconds; the call to action is right. |
| Storyboard | The product is shown as agreed; no competitor or unlicensed music in frame. |
| Final video | Matches the approved script; ad label present; links and codes work. |
Revisions
Agree the number of revisions before work starts. A revision asks for a change against the brief; a new idea is a new order. Packages on Sponmi state the number of revisions, and an extra round can be bought as an add-on.
If something goes wrong
Because the payment is held rather than paid out, a missed delivery does not become a refund chase. Cancelled orders return the held amount to the buyer's balance.
Questions
- How long does a sponsored post take?
- It depends on the package. On Sponmi each package states its delivery days, and rush delivery can be offered as an add-on.
- Who owns the video?
- The creator, unless you agree otherwise. To run it as your own ad you need usage rights for a term and territory.
- Can the creator skip a review step?
- No. In a staged package the next step opens only after the previous one is approved.
