Held payment for creator sponsorships
Held payment means the brand pays before the work starts, a platform keeps the money while the creator works, and it is released to the creator only when the agreed post is delivered. The creator knows the money exists; the brand knows it is not paid out for work that never arrives.
Updated
When the money moves
| Moment | What happens to the payment |
|---|---|
| Offer sent | Nothing is charged. |
| Creator accepts | The brand pays; the amount is held. |
| Steps approved | Still held until the final step. |
| Post delivered | Released to the creator, minus the platform fee. |
| Order cancelled | Returned to the brand's balance. |
What it protects against
- Creators: working first and not being paid.
- Brands: paying first and receiving nothing.
- Both: arguing later about what was agreed, because the order records the package, steps and dates.
What it does not do
- It does not guarantee views or sales.
- It does not replace the ad label that the law requires.
- It does not decide taste: agree review steps and revisions before work starts.
How Sponmi applies it
Every sponsored-post order and every ad-usage licence on Sponmi uses held payment. Funds move only through the platform's ledger, and accounts related to the operator are labelled wherever they trade.
Questions
- Is this an escrow service?
- No. It is how orders on Sponmi are paid: payment before the work starts, released on delivery. The terms set out the legal arrangement.
- Who decides that the work is delivered?
- The buyer approves each agreed step. The package states the steps and the number of revisions in advance.
- Does it cost extra?
- No separate charge. On Sponmi it is part of the standard order flow.
