Review campaigns vs paid YouTube sponsorship
By the Sponmi team · Updated
Review-campaign platforms such as REVU and ReviewNote in Korea send creators a product or a store visit in exchange for an honest review, usually on blogs and Instagram, and creators apply to each campaign. A paid sponsorship on Sponmi is different: you pick a YouTube channel, pay a fixed package price plus a 5.5% service fee, approve the agreed steps, and the creator is paid after Sponmi confirms the final step.
How do review campaigns and paid sponsorship compare?
REVU and ReviewNote items are from their public pages as of 28 October 2026 and may have changed since.
| Review campaign (REVU, ReviewNote) | Paid sponsorship (Sponmi) | |
|---|---|---|
| What the creator gets | The product or a store visit; ReviewNote listings also show points | A production fee in US dollars |
| Channels | Blogs, Instagram, YouTube and short-form | YouTube channels (creators can link Instagram, TikTok, X and Threads) |
| Who picks the creator | Creators apply to the campaign and are selected | You pick a channel and order, or post a campaign and pick from applicants |
| What you control | Usually guidelines for an honest review | Script, storyboard and final video approved in order |
| How cost is set | REVU's business centre offers a free consultation and a custom quote | The package price on the channel page plus the service fee |
| Where creators are | Mainly Korea (REVU also lists a global service) | Any country except sanctioned ones |
When is a review campaign the better fit?
- You need many reviews of a product or a local store, mostly on blogs and Instagram.
- Search results for your product or store name are thin and you want more posts to show up.
- An honest opinion matters more than a fixed message or posting date.
When is a paid YouTube sponsorship the better fit?
- You need a specific message in a specific YouTube video or Short.
- You want to approve the script or storyboard before filming.
- You want a posting period, an ad label and optional rights to use the video in your ads.
- You want to reach viewers outside Korea, paying in US dollars.
How does a sponsorship on Sponmi work?
- Find a channel and order its package, or send an offer with your budget and brief. Nothing is charged until the creator accepts.
- Pay on the order page.
- Approve each agreed step. With no feedback for 72 hours, Sponmi checks the step against your order and confirms it.
- The creator posts with an ad label, and Sponmi pays the creator after confirming the final step. Cancelled orders are refunded to the payment method used.
Can I use both?
Yes. Many brands use review campaigns for volume and a few paid sponsorships for reach on YouTube. Track each separately: count reviews for one, and views and cost per 1,000 views for the other. Sponmi records an approved video's public YouTube numbers once a day for 21 days.
